Express Entry is a points-based immigration system introduced by the Government of Canada to manage and streamline the selection process for skilled workers who wish to become permanent residents.
There are 3 immigration programs managed through Express Entry:
The Canadian Experience Class(CEC) is designed for individuals who have gained skilled work experience in Canada and wish to transition to permanent residency.
The Federal Skilled Worker(FSW) program is designed for individuals with skilled work experience who wish to immigrate to Canada as permanent residents.
The Federal Skilled Trades(FST) program is designed for individuals with experience in skilled trades who wish to immigrate to Canada as permanent residents.
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is the points-based system we use to assess and score your profile and rank you in the Express Entry pool.The points you get from the CRS include a core set of points up to 600 and a set of additional points of up to 600.
Your total score will be out of 1,200.
The Canadian Experience Class program is aimed at retaining skilled workers who have contributed to the Canadian labor market and wish to settle permanently in Canada. It provides a pathway to permanent residency for individuals who have demonstrated their ability.

Your test results must be less than two years old when you submit your application for permanent residence.
The Federal Skilled Worker program is aimed at attracting skilled workers who have the education, work experience, language proficiency, and other qualities needed to contribute to the Canadian economy and society. It provides a pathway to permanent residency for individuals who meet the eligibility criteria and are selected through the Express Entry system.

The current pass mark is 67 points.
These points are different from the points we use to rank your profile in the Express Entry pool.
The Federal Skilled Trades program is aimed at attracting individuals with skills and experience in trades that are in demand in Canada. It provides a pathway to permanent residency for skilled tradespeople who meet the eligibility criteria and are selected through the Express Entry system.
